Upon receiving it, we now know the EX5 isn't a good match - different number of lead wires, not for this machine. They confirmed that the Nancy was 'absolutely' the right replacement. That soon resolved but made us think it might need a new pump so contacted Olympia Washington parts seller and were told that the original pump (an NH5) was no longer made, but the replacement Ulka pump (an EX5) was "a direct replacement". My Rancilio "Nancy" is now nearing 20 years of in-home service and recently we took it apart, cleaned it, replaced the screen and gasket, and while doing it turned it on its side, When re-assembled it seemed to have difficulty pumping - like an air bubble occurred.
